Neighbour House Bed & Breakfast COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines
To Our Dear Guests,
As the coronavirus continues to have an impact around the world, it’s important for us to communicate with you to show you the steps we are taking to help keep guests safe and healthy.
At The Neighbour House, we have always adhered to the highest cleaning standards possible. We have implemented additional measures in the face of COVID-19 to ensure that our guests feel a sense of safety and security when staying with us. We are confident that these extra measures and precautions make The Neighbour House Bed and Breakfast a safer place to stay so that you can enjoy your vacation or getaway.
For the safety of our guests and staff, we have added cleaning and sanitation procedures that comply with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), state and local guidelines, as well as those recommended by hospitality industry experts.
These changes cover all aspects of our operations, including breakfast and dining changes, guest room housekeeping, and common area cleaning and sanitation, and supplement our already rigorous processes. Our goal is to ensure the utmost in cleanliness and hygiene.

Guest Check-In and Check-Out
While it is always our preference to personally welcome our guests, we believe that implementing social distancing guidelines is wise in the current climate. We have implemented new contact-less check-in and check-out procedures for our guests’ safety and convenience.
Our reservation system collects payments and processes receipts electronically prior to guest arrivals, so the need for credit cards, pens, or papers to be exchanged at arrival will be limited. If a credit card needs to be run while a guest is checking in or out, we will make sure the card is sanitized prior to its return to the guest.
In your room, you will find your sanitized room keys. Please contact us via voice or text messaging if you need anything. We will be happy to answer any inquiries that you might have while remaining at an appropriate distance.
Since all charges are prepaid, there should be no need to settle balances due at the time of check out. We ask that you leave your keys in the guest rooms when it is time to check out.
The Neighbour House Bed & Breakfast will be changing to a continental breakfast. The following changes will be employed:
Room charge will be discounted 10% for this change (no code needed).
Continental breakfast includes:
- Coffee/tea, orange juice, milk
Yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, baked goods
Dietary restrictions must be expressed at the time of reservation.
Tables will be available in the dining room and outside, between 7-10 am. Please eat with your group and keep the appropriate distance between other guests.
Self-Serve Coffee, Tea, and Ice
Self-service amenities will not be available at this time. You may request beverages from us throughout the day.
Guest Rooms and Housekeeping Service
We will employ a 24-hour interval between stays on all guest rooms to ensure safe time distancing between guest stays.
We have four guest rooms; two of them have a shared bathroom in the hallway. We will only be allowing sharing of the bathroom if it is the same party. Therefore, either of the shared bathroom guest rooms is available to be booked for an individual (or couple), and we will be automatically then lock the other room so no one else can book it.
Once a guest has checked-out:
The room will be stripped of all linens which are then bagged and taken to be washed and sanitized.
Beds will be remade with clean and sanitized linens.
All hard surfaces in the guest rooms and bathrooms will be cleaned with a sanitizing agent, including doorknobs, light switches, drawer knobs, alarm clock/charging/docking stations, thermostat controls and TV remote controls.
Daily Housekeeping Service
Daily housekeeping/room service will be discontinued at this time with exception of stays of 7 days or longer. This will minimize staff need to access your room during a stay.
You may place the bin outside of your room to signal you want removal.
Soiled/Used Towel Removal
To request replacement towels, please place soiled towels outside the room and let us know.
Common areas will be cleaned and sanitized as always. High touch areas such as door knobs, banisters and door jams will be cleaned even more frequently. Hand sanitizer will be made available throughout the common areas.
The guest restroom will be unavailable for guest use at this time.
We are using the following procedures:
We are wearing cloth face masks
We use protective disposable gloves when appropriate
We check our own temperature regularly
Kitchen sanitation procedures as always will continue with:
High-temperature commercial grade dishwasher to sanitize dishes, silverware and glassware
Surfaces cleaned and sanitized with bleach solution per CDC requirements for sanitizing solution.
